Let us say I want to do meditation just to gain powers and just to
use them for my material purposes. What will happen to me? Will I be
successful in getting powers? Leave enlightenment. I dont think it
is possible without a good attitude. I dont want to go that way (bad
way) but just being curious.

Because
I've been doing meditation twice everyday for the past 2 months but
my nature seems to not have changed. I still hate ppl basing on
religion/caste/creed/race/whatever. I still am ready to play work
politics though am not doing because I am scared about accumulating
bad karma. See, I am only scared, or I am wiser because of the
reading I have done on karma yoga but I am not really changed.

I know I need to be patient. hmm...

I would think that being a "good guy" starts with being good to
yourself. Be more forgiving towards yourself, you are only human, we all
are, we are programmed to function on the survival level, we can't
expect ourselves to be perfect and beat ourselves up when we don't
fulfill this expectation. Be more kind towards yourself, more forgiving,
and with time (and meditation can help too, though in itself I don't
think it will make you good or bad, in itself the effect of meditation
is neutral I believe) your attitude towards yourself will reflect on
your relationships and attitudes towards other people. As you become
more loving and accepting towards yourself you will become so towards
your environment as well.

Blessings,
Iris

    Greetings my Brother,

According to my information, one can develop ones creative powers to a very high degree, regardless of whether or not one uses them for service to others (our other selves). There are those who are to a very high percentage, service to self (egoic self) and do so at the expense of others, disregarding their needs.

My personal research seems to suggest, that the universe does indeed allow for this, for this is part of the Divine exploring and expressing all possible manifestations of its Infinite Potential. Indeed siddhis are developed in the same way one develops the strength of ones physical body. In the same way that Mr Universe could strangle you with his strength, so could a very psychically (not spiritually, of course he/she could, but would not) developed person affect his life or others, for his personal gain. There appears to be no restrictions on our creative potential/power what so ever, but of course we will receive feed back and learning for any and all actions we give expression to, psychic or other wise. Yogis often refer to this enforced growth as karma, though its interpretation is often overly simplistic and limited :-)

In kind regards,

Adam.

What you are asking is whether you can expect a change in consciousness without
having achieved a change in consciousness. The answer is no. The "you" who'd potentially
abuse your powers of, say, telekinesis or massive climate change will be differently wired
than the present you who hates mid-caste Scientologists and backbites the worker in the
next cubicle.

You've already reached a plateau. You are recognizing your thoughts for what
they are, just thoughts, and not blindly stumbling and kidding yourself. The
truth comes sometimes slowly, and once known we can't go back.
