excessive energy
« on: July 19, 2009, 06:15:37 AM »
Its 8pm on a sunday evening. I've already done 40 press ups, 50 sit ups, and run a few miles. I've now spent some time channeling energy into writing a book I'm working on. Yet I still feel like I could run a thousand miles and keep wanting to get up and run around the house!! I'm just doing the usual SBP and DM routine, plus eating a diet made up on mainly fresh fruit and vegetables. I'm afraid when I've experienced this state before, its become too intense to handle and I've ended up drinking alcohol or numbing it out in some other way. I always regret this afterwards. Has anyone experienced this and can help give me some ideas of how to deal with this? Thanks

Hi Mr. Anderson....

I have had problems with excessive energy myself.  Here is a thread I started on the topic: http://www.aypsite.com/plus-forum/index.php?topic=5702

Basically for me it came down to
1. Pacing myself with everything, not just practices
2. Eating a proper diet at appropriate times of the day
3. Of course, a ton of grounding (which you are already doing)
4. Not thinking about it as much as possible.  The more thought energy you put into a problem the more of a problem it becomes.

Hope this helps in some way.  I think that for the most part, stuff like this has to be sorted out by the practitioner.  The "triggers" will be different for each person I think....for me it was basically diet.  I needed to eat 3 meals a day (at least) not one.  Once my metabolism got back to "normal" I didn't have as much of a hard time with the excessive energy.  But this will likely not be the "cause" for you.  It may be, but only you will know.  Hope this helps a little.

Love,
Carson[^]

Agree with all Carson said...

Few others:

Eat heavy (if not opposed to eating meat, have a piece of steak and potatoes. If non-veg is not an option, eat rice with butter/ghee, potatoes, cheese, junk food like pizza).

Go out with non spiritual friends.

Do stuff that takes your mind away from spirituality.. watch a non-spiritual movie, listen to songs that are not moving and not spiritual, read a fiction novel.

Don't focus on the energy.

Another one that emc recently posted.. visit your family/relatives.[:D]

Thx Carson, I just saw that! It seems to me its the rising spiritual energy in the body that causes this. I'm going to eat some lower vibrational food than fresh fruit and veg: PIZZA! I anticipate this may help slow me down.
I usually feel this sort of food reduces my energetic intensity.

Update: I just ate this pizza called the vesuvius, its covered in roquito peppers and almost blew my face off. I feel back to normal now.
