Hi guys,

Next May I will be leading a 5 day (4 night) retreat at Eden Rise in Devon in the United Kingdom.

This will be an intermediate to advanced level retreat. As well as the usual practices, of Spinal Breathing Pranayama, Deep Meditation and Samyama, we will also be incorporating some of the advanced pranayamas such as Spinal Bastrika, Yoni Mudra Kumbhaka and Dynamic Jalandhara Bandha into the practice routine. All practices will be optional, as on all retreats.

Details for the retreat are here.

If you would like to come on the retreat but are unsure if your practice is at a suitable level, just get in touch and I can let you know.

Hi guys,

We held this retreat last weekend in Devon, England, with 12 people who came from different countries around Europe. We built up the advanced pranayamas gradually over the 5 days of the retreat. Eventually we ended up with a practice routine which consisted of:

Alternate Nostril Breathing: 5 mins
Spinal Breathing Pranayama: 10 mins
Dynamic Jalandhara Bandha: 3 mins
Spinal Bastrika: 3 mins
Deep Meditation: 20 mins
Samyama: 10 mins
Yoni Mudra Kumbhaka: 3 mins
Rest: 5 mins +

Some people were already using the advanced pranayamas before attending the retreat, whilst others learned them for the first time.

The group energy held everything together and we had very few symptoms of energetic overload being reported during the 5 days, despite the very powerful practices being used. A few people experienced powerful symptoms at the ajna chakra, due to the Yoni Mudra Kumbhaka practice and a few others experienced some unsettling symptoms, due to the advanced pranayamas purifying the lower chakras. Self-pacing and grounding worked to settle any uncomfortable symptoms.

Quite a few people reported experiencing deeper inner silence and experiences of unconditional love than they had before.

It was the first time that we have tried using the advanced pranayamas on a group retreat and it was very powerful. The plan is to continue to hold occasional intermediate/ advanced level retreats, with more taking place as more people reach the stage of using these advanced pranayamas.

It was a great, loving and powerful retreat.

I will write more in my 'Eternal Journey' journal on AYP plus.
